The Chicago Blackhawks continued to roll along with a 3-0 shutout victory of the Nashville Predators. Goalie Corey Crawford stopped 17 shots earning his 6th career shutout.
The teams were scoreless after the first period where the Blackhawks outshot the Predators 10-7. The game had little in the way of penalties until the fight below between Rich Cline of the Preds and Andrew Shaw of the Blackhawks. Not the best tussle and it looked like Clune had the most punches thrown (more like forearm smashes to Shaw's jersey number and back of the head) before the takedown.
Chicago popped in a couple of goals while Shaw and Clune were cooling off in the penalty box as Marcus Kruger got his 2nd of the season at 6:14 and Jonathan Toews deflected defenseman Duncan Keith's shot for his 6th. Patrick Kane's 9th of the season past Preds goalie Pekka Rinne put a nail in the coffin early in the 3rd period. Kane's goal puts him in a second place tie among goal scorers with David Clarkson of the Devils and the Sharks Patrick Marleau. All trail Sabres left winger Thomas Vanek who leads the league with 11 goals in 12 games so far this season.
