The Sharks are now seven points up on 2nd place Phoenix in the Pacific division and two up on both the New Jersey Devils and Chicago Blackhawks in the overall standings.

The Sharks also hold the best home ice record, having lost at the Shark Tank only twice in 21 games this season. Offensively, only the Washington Capitals have been able to match San Jose's goalscoring as they have 142 goals in 42 games.
