The Boston Bruins have signed Miroslav Satan, 35, to a short contract for the remainder of the 2009-10 season, hoping Satan can help shore up the Bruins' offense, which has slipped a bit after being so strong last year.
Satan had 17 goals, 19 assists for 36 points in the 65 games he played last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins as he helped Sidney Crosby and company to the Stanley Cup. He was not offered a new contract from the Pens.
