Team Canada's Olympic Hockey Team Announced

Finally! Here are the names of what is expected to be one of the best overall teams that Canada has sent to the Olympics. Taking a quick look, all I can say is that it looks pretty scary. Balanced with a lot of grit and finesse, all are veteran players from the National Hockey League, with almost all having significant international experience. Brodeur looks like the number one goaltender, but who wouldn't want to have Luongo or Fleury parked on the end of the bench as a back-up?

The team captain is defenseman Scott Niedermayer of the Anaheim Ducks who is one of only four players who won gold for Canada back in Salt Lake City. Brodeur, Pronger and Iginla are the others from that year.

Sidney Crosby, Jarome Iginla and Chris Pronger are the assistant captains. I'm really looking forward to see what Crosby, Iginla and and Rick Nash will look like on the same line.

Goaltenders
Martin Brodeur
Roberto Luongo
Marc-Andre Fleury

Chris Pronger (A)

What do you think of this latest version of Team Canada? How will they fare against the Russians, Swedes and Americans?
