This was also Kane's 2nd straight 2 goal performance.
Chicago netminder Cristobal Huet was yanked in favor of Antti Niemi after letting in 4 goals on the first 10 Dallas shots. Stars veteran center Mike Modano scored his 549th career goal in the first period, his 6th so far this season. This was also Modano's 1,600th NHL game.
Jonathan Toews picked up assists on both of Kane's goals, giving the Chicago captain 31 points. Kane leads the Blackhawks in points this season with 44, followed by defenseman Duncan Keith with 35 points and then Toews is third.
