New York Islanders center Rob Schremp's goal against Steve Mason in the shoot out gave the Isles a 2-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. For the Blue Jackets, this was the teams' 12th straight loss on the road which is why they are hovering just above the worst teams in the NHL standings.

Josh Bailey put the Islanders on the board midway through the 1st period with his 8th and that goal held up until R.J. Umberger backhanded the tying goal past Islanders' goalie Dwayne Roloson at 9:47 of the 3rd. Columbus held a large advantage in shots in the game, 42-25, but New York carried the play in overtime, out-shooting Columbus 5-2.

Schremp scored the only goal in the shoot out.
