Coyotes Over Blue Jackets 2-1 In Shoot Out
The red hot Phoenix Coyotes continued winning, as Robert Lang's shoot out goal gave Phoenix their 8th win in their last 10 games with a 2-1 victory over the slumping Columbus Blue Jackets.
Keith Yandle's early goal, 1:48 into the game stood until the 3rd period when right winger Rick Nash scored his 18th of the season on the power play to knot the game 1-1. Nash's goal gives him 35 points on the season, 10 more than 2nd place Antoine Vermette. Defenseman Fedor Tyutin flubbed a slap shot from the Phoenix blue line and the puck drifted over to Nash who was parked off to the left of Coyotes' netminder Jason LaBarbera and Nash slapped it past the goalie who got a piece of the puck.
The game went to overtime, where both teams had 5 shots each, but they had to go to the shoot out to decide things. LaBarbera was solid, allowing on Nash to get one behind him, while his counterpart in the Blue Jackets' net, Mathieu Garon was victimized twice, once by Shane Doan and then by Land for the game winner.

Columbus plays the Avalanche in Colorado on Saturday, while the Coyotes visit the Anaheim Ducks.
