Phoenix Coyotes' defenseman Ed Jovanovski was assessed a two game suspension without pay for an incident in the third period of a game against the Minnesota Wild. Jovanovski, 33, dumped Minnesota's Andrew Ebbett, 26, with a forearm to the head of Ebbett as the center was crossing the Coyotes blue line with the puck. No penalty was called on the play.
Jovanovski will lose over $67,000 in pay which goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund. He will be eligible to play again on December 14th against the Detroit Red Wings.
