Conklin Shuts Out Wings In Blues 1-0 Win

St Louis Blues goalie Ty Conklin earned his 12th career shutout, facing 42 shots in beating the Detroit Red Wings 1-0 on the road. This was the 3rd time the Red Wings have been shut out in their last eight games. The win makes up for a 4-3 shootout loss to Detroit the Blues suffered November 28th.

Brad Boyes scored the only goal of the game at 1:56 of the 1st period, as St Louis moved the puck around the Red Wings' net setting Boyes up for the one-timer that beat Jimmy Howard. That goal proved to be the game winner.

With the win St Louis has 31 points on the season, 2 points back of both Detroit and the Columbus Blue Jackets for 3rd spot in the Central Division. The Blues have a game in hand on both teams.

St Louis and Detroit are both off until Friday when the Blues are at home to face the Edmonton Oilers and the Red Wings host the Anaheim Ducks.
