Sabres Hold Off Flyers To Win 3-2

Buffalo Sabres held off the Philadelphia Flyers 3rd period comeback attempt to win 3-2 and extend their own 3-game winning streak while snapping the Flyers win streak at 5 games. Buffalo also took a little bit of revenge after losing 5-2 to the Flyers November 6th in Philadelphia.

The Sabres took a 2-0 lead into the 3rd period on goals by Thomas Vanek and Tyler Ennis when Flyers' defenseman Chris Pronger scored his 4th of the season to cut the lead to 2-1. Paul Gaustad tipped in a power play goal about 4 minutes after Pronger scored to put Buffalo up 3-1. Flyers' sniper Jeff Carter scored yet another shorthanded goal (only his 1st this year though) to get them back within one goal.

Philly peppered Sabres goalie Ryan Miller with 15 shots in the 3rd period but couldn't get the equalizer. Miller basically stood on his head to earn 1st star honors to earn the win.
