Here's Video Of Why Daniel Briere Suspended and Loses 67K
Philadelphia Flyers Daniel Briere was suspended for 2 games and will lose $67,000 in salary for his late hit on Colorado defenseman Scott Hannan following Hannan's goal in the 2nd period of the game the Flyers lost to the Avalanche 5-4. The video above is in slooow motion and you can see Briere leaving his feet and elbowing Hannan in the throat as he watches his shot at Philadelphia's netminder Ray Emery.
Briere was not penalized on the play and in the 3rd period he scored the Flyers' 3rd goal and assisted on Jeff Carter's goal, ending the night with 2 goals and 2 assists.
So far this season the 32-year-old Briere has 10 goals and 6 assists for 16 points in the 17 games he has appeared.
