Flyers Steamroll Senators Led By Goalie Emery
Ray Emery had a taste of revenge as the Philadelphia Flyers' goalie helped shut down the Ottawa Senators who bought him out last season in a game dominated by the Flyers. The game was scorless for the 1st period until Philadelphia's Blair Betts and the Sens' Mike Fisher exchanged goals in the 2nd. For Betts it was his fist goal of the season. James van Riemsdyk put the Flyers up to stay 2 minutes after Fisher had tied it up at 1-1.
Danny Briere took over in the 3rd, scoring his 6th and 7th goals of the season. Darroll Powe got his 5th goal sandwiched between Briere's steller work. This was the 3rd win out of the Flyers' last 4 games as they lost 5-2 to the Buffalo Sabres November 6th at Buffalo. Philadelphia and the Sabres will lock horns again on Saturday in Philadelphia. The Sens slip to 2-4 in their last 6 games and will face the Rangers on November 14th. The Rangers beat the Senators 5-2 in their last game Oct. 3rd, Ottawa's season opener.
