Ducks Over Flames In Shoot Out November 23rd
Anaheim Ducks Teemu Selanne scored the only goal in the shootout to win the game for Anaheim after Jarome Iginla got his 16th of the year to tie the game 2-2 late in the 3rd period. Ducks netminder Jean-Sebastien Giguere faced 18 total shots in the 3rd period alone as Calgary pressed for the tying goal. Giguere had 43 shots total in his 1st win this season after putting in 7 appearances, mostly as backup.
Curtis Glencross put the Calgary Flames up 1-0 at 13:44 of the 1st but Bobby Ryan tied it with his 10th about 2 minutes later on a backhand that eluded Calgary goalie Miikka Kiprusoff and then Ryan Getzlaf gave Anaheim the lead with about 3 minutes left in the first.
The Ducks retained the lead up until the last minute of the 3rd period when Iginla scored his team-high 16th of the year. No other Flame has more than 7 goals so far in the 2009-10 season. OT solved nothing so it went to the shoot out with Selanne scoring the only goal winning it for Anaheim.

Anaheim will face the Carolina Hurricane tonight. Calgary is still in 2nd place in the Northwest Division. The Flames will also play Wednesday, hosting Phoenix.
