Canucks Demo Colorado With Henrik Sedin's Hat Trick
Henrik Sedin got his first ever NHL hat trick in the Vancouver Canucks' 8-2 dismantling of the Colorado Avalanche. Sendin didn't seem to be missing his twin brother Daniel last night as Vancouver scored early and often against the Avs who seemed badly outplayed at times. Surprisingly, this was Sendin's first ever NHL hat trick coming in his 667th game.
Ryan Johnson and Mason Raymond both had 3 assists each for the Canucks and Steve Bernier also got 2 goals for Vancouver. The Canucks took a 4-0 lead into the 3rd period and the Avalanche tried to make a game of it with 2 goals in the first 11 minutes of the 3rd, a power play marker by Marek Svatos with his 5th of the season and Matt Hendricks netting his 2nd, but Vancouver's goalie Roberto Luongo and his teammates hunkered down defensively but still exploded for 4 more goals in the 3rd to KO Colorado.
The Avalanche pulled starter Craig Anderson after the 2nd period and threw in Peter Budaj, but after closing to within 2 goals on Hendricks' goal it was all Vancouver down the stretch.
