Bruins Shootout Win Over Thrashers

The Bruins haven't shown the form they did last year, and although they did end up winning this one, they gave up a goal in the final minute forcing overtime. Patrice Bergeron scored the only goal of the shootout giving Boston the win. Michael Ryder scored twice for the Bruins, while the Atlanta Thrashers got goes from Nik Andropov (his 1st of the season), Ilya Kovalchuk scored his team-high 13th of the season along with assisting on both of the other Atlanta goals, now has 21 points in the 12 games in which he's appeared.

Maxim Afinogenov scored the tieing goal for the Thrashers forcing overtime which solved nothing. Patrice Bergeron scored the only goal in the shootout to win it for the Bruins who moved ahead of the Canadiens to take over 3rd in the Northeast Division. As a side note, the Boston Bruins expect tough guy Milan Lucic to return for tonight's game against the Buffalo Sabres.
