1st Career Shut Out For Oilers Rookie
Jeff Deslauriers got his first ever NHL shutout as his Edmonton Oilers beat the Phoenix Coyotes 4-0 on sunday night. Coyotes goalie Ilya Bryzgalov allowed 3 goals in the 1st period and the Oilers cruised to an eventual 4-0 home ice win.
Ethan Moreau opened the scoring at 7:59 then Sheldon Souray and Ales Hemsky scored 7 seconds apart. Shawn Horcoff closed out the scoring with a power play goal with one second remaining in the 2nd period.
Los Angeles Kings motor into Edmonton for a game on Wednesday, while Phoenix heads to Calgary to play the Flames.
