The Montreal Canadiens bounced back from a disappointing loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs to beat the Ottawa Senators 4-0 at Montreal. Carey Price earned his first shutout of the season as Left Winger Chris Higgins got a hat trick for the first time in his career. The Habs were missing Tom Kostopoulos who began serving a 3-game suspension after his hit on Mike Van Ryn from behind on Saturday that caused multiple injuries to the Leafs' player.
This was Price's first shutout since his 3-0 win April 1 this year also against the Sens. With the win, Montreal moved back into 1st place in the Northeast Division, one point ahead of the surging Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres who are tied with 19 points each. The Ottawa Senators remain cellar-dwellers in the same division with 14 points and a 6-7-2 record.
